In Search of our Mennonite Family Roots

The people in the Cottonwood County area are great! I have never met so many helpful people in my life. History is very important in this area and they work hard at keeping it that way. We had a wonderful, ethnic lunch at the Mennonite Heritage Village, along with some much needed history lessons. The history of the Mennonite's will help us with further family research.
Gertrude and John Reimer.(Grand-Parents)Right now we are working on John's Family. Thank God the Mennonite's keep good records, but we have yet to find out where his parents are buried, and his parents.

Wow! What a quick trip this past weekend. My cousin Trish and I hit the Cottonwood County area in Minnesota. We spent a about 7 hours at the Historical Society. Most of the time reading through old news papers from Mt. Lake. Walked through 4 or 5 old Mennonite Cemeteries, trying to find great and great great grandparents. I've got a lot more to share in future posts.
